Ten years of “Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega & Altair”

Our writer and reviewer Jarith Hughes is not shy about his affections for Grand Rapids five piece LA Dispute. No doubt when the band brings their 10th Anniversary tour of “..Between Vega & Altair” to our Australian shores this December, he’ll be front and centre with his trusty pad & pencil.

LA DISPUTE; post hardcore pioneers from Grand Rapids, Michigan are celebrating the 10 year anniversary of their debut album “Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair”, and have released something very special commemorate this milestone.

Using the gift of hindsight to honor the past and bring to it new light, the band has undergone the task of remixing, mastering and re releasing this earnest and compelling debut. With the use of new studio tools, microphones and live rooms; La Dispute have offered these songs a broader pallet and breath of new life while remaining true to the heart of this beautiful and nostalgic album, a decade on.

No strangers to Australia, La Dispute are known to grace our stages more often than most international bands. Their live performances are dynamic and immersive, resulting in a organic and connecting experience between the band and their fiercely loyal fans. There’s little surprise La Disputes shows sell out time after time.

If you appreciate art, poetry, expressive music and lyrics that explore what it is to be human then I urge you to give La Dispute a listen and go see them at the closest show to you!
